Danielle Aliotta

Danielle Aliotta is a Long Island based Educator, Director/ Choreographer and Coach. She received her bachelors degree in Dance from Goucher College and her Masters degree in Theater Education from Adelphi University. As a performer, Danielle had the opportunity to join the Actors Equity Association, and perform at the John W. Engeman Theater, the Ogunquit Playhouse, Town Hall NYC, the Symphony Space, Don’t Tell Mamma and more. Her directing and choreography has been featured at The Engemans Children's Theater Series, The Long Island Musical Theater Festival, Plaza Theatricals and in various Long Island High School and Middle School Performing Arts Programs. As an educator, Danielle helped set up dance and theater programs in high schools across Long Island and for New York City Public Schools. She is currently an adjunct professor in the dance department at Five Towns College, and teaches Theater at East Meadow Schools. Danielle also coaches students preparing for the collegiate and professional level. Her students have found success at prestigious universities such as NYU Tisch, the Hartt School, Ithaca College, and more. Steven Altinel

Steven Altinel is the founder and artistic director of the Long Island Musical Theatre Festival (www.limtf.org). He maintains an active schedule as a music director, pianist and vocal coach in the tri-state area. Steven is often asked to present workshops on the topic of musical theatre and music direction at local and state conferences. Steven’s favorite performance credits include the touring company of A Royal Christmas starring Andrea Bocelli and the New York Philharmonic’s production of Candide starring Kristen Chenoweth and Patti LuPone (PBS). Jennifer Barsamian

Jennifer Barsamian has been teaching voice for over 20 years. Jennifer is thrilled to join the voice faculty at LIU Post this Fall 2026 where she will work with students in the Musical Theatre dept. She has served on the voice faculty of the Queens Summer Vocal Institute at Queens College for several years. Jennifer has previously served as professor of voice and Five Towns College where she worked with musical theatre majors, as well as the Greenwich House Music School in Manhattan, Lucy Moses School in Manhattan, the Loomis Chaffee School in CT, the community division at The Hartt School of Music, and the community music school at North Carolina School of the Arts. As a performer she has been praised as a consummate artist with a winning personality and a deep, rich, strong, vocalism. Described as the “quintessential Carmen” Ms. Barsamian has sung the title role several times throughout the United States. On the operatic stage she has sung with the Belleayre Music Festival, Opera Western Reserve, Asheville Lyric Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Opera Company of the Highlands, Utah Festival Opera, New Jersey Verismo Opera, and the Spoleto Festival USA among others. Jennifer holds a Master’s Degree in Music from North Carolina School of the Arts and Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Westminster Choir College, where she began her studies as a pianist.  She has also earned two post graduate certificates in Voice and Opera from both the A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute and the Hartt School of Music. Many of her students have been cast in leading roles, won top prizes in musical competitions and have gone on to study at top music colleges and conservatories. Some schools include: Northwestern, NYU, Miami, Ithaca, Hartt School, Shenandoah, MSM, Penn State, West Conn, and Peabody. Jennifer has a true passion for the process of building and guiding young voices and has extensive experience in guiding students through the Musical Theater college audition process. Jennifer is a founding board member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Long Island Chapter (NATS NSQ).

Nathan Brewer

Nathan Brewer is a professor of musical theatre at The New Studio on Broadway at NYU/Tisch, where he teaches every student in their first and third year of vocal performance, and has directed productions of Damn Yankees, Love Somebody Now, The Drowsy Chaperone, Urinetown, Cry Baby, and Disaster!.  He is also the coordinator of the theatre minor and professor of Lyric Theatre at The College of New Jersey, and has taught and directed at Penn State, AMDA, Adelphi University, Northwestern University, Westminster Choir College, and Rider University. 

Nathan is the writer, director, and vocal arranger of Andrew Lippa’s new musical, Love Somebody Now, licensed through Theatrical Rights Worldwide, with an original cast album featuring Philipa Soo, Joy Woods, Jordan Fisher, Bonnie Milligan, Adrianne Warren, and Stephen Pasquale.  Directing credits include: Ring of Fire (RWS Global), Piaf: A Centennial Celebration (The Town Hall), Seussical (Theatreworks/USA National Tour), Propaganda (New York Musical Theatre Festival), Funny Girl (Forestburgh Playhouse), Mirita (The Princeton Festival), Grand Hotel (Blue Hill Troupe and Pennsylvania Centre Stage), Gypsy, Parade, Merrily We Roll Along, The Secret Garden, Spring Awakening, Cabaret, Violet, Sweeney Todd (Long Island Musical Theatre Festival), new works for Abingdon Theatre Company, The York, NAMT, and New York Film Academy.  Mr. Brewer has directed galas for Lincoln Center, Washington National Opera, Park Avenue Armory, The Acting Company, and Adrienne Arsht Center, in addition to The Helen Hayes Awards, Standing Ovation Awards (Kennedy Center), and Hispanic Heritage Awards (aired on PBS).  He has directed numerous staged concerts for The American Pops Orchestra, Fairfax Symphony, and West Virginia Symphony.  Assisting credits include Aladdin (Broadway), and Relatively Speaking (Broadway). Kimberly Larkin

Kimberly Larkin holds a MA in Vocal Performance: Concentration in Musical Theatre from NYU and a BA in Music Education from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, where she studied both voice and piano. Ms. Larkin is currently on the faculty of the Long Island High School for the Arts where she teaches in the Theatre & Music Departments. In 2001 she founded a Musical Theatre Summer Workshop at ECPSM/Queens College and has continued to direct it for the last 26 summers. She also created and directed a music program at St. Andrew Avellino School in Flushing, Queens for over 20 years. Her private vocal students have won numerous competitions, been accepted to the top college programs in musical theatre and the NYC performing arts high schools, as well as performed on Broadway and in professional shows in NYC and beyond. Her recent NYC theatre credits include: Christine in Mile Marker 117 (Strawberry One Act Festival Semi-Finalist), featured soloist in AEA Showcase of Christmas Rappings (2009, 2015 and 2019), Wendy in G-69 (Strawberry One Act Festival Finalist), Archon in Float (Dream Up Festival), Miss Bunny in Molly Bloom-Lately (New York Children's Theatre Festival) and Claire Simmonds in Bare: A Pop Opera at The York Theatre. She performed as Sarah Lincoln in the off-Broadway musical Honestly Abe at the Actor's Temple Theatre in NYC for over two years. Ms. Larkin also played the small featured role of the Principal in the short independent film BIFF & ME that was screened at many film festivals.
